Hanung Adi Nugroho was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, on February 24, 1978. He received the Bachelor degree (S.T.) in electrical engineering from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia in 2001. He also received Master of Engineering degree (M.E.) in biomedical engineering from the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia in 2005. In 2012, he received his PhD degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Malaysia. He started to join as teaching staff in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in 2002 until now. While pursuing his PhD, he became a research officer at Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) from 2008 to 2010. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor and also a Vice Head of Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). His current research interests include biomedical signal and image processing and analysis, computer vision, medical instrumentation and pattern recognition.
